Bre Barnett Crowell - A native North Carolinian, Bre chose to attend her father’s alma mater, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Studio Art, and studied Art History. After leaving a long career in sales in the Southeast, she began to focus on her art. A course at Queens University in Charlotte introduced her to the rich medium of pastel. From there, she began to perfect her work by attending classes and workshops with national artists including Ann Templeton, Susan Ogilvie, Judith Carducci, and Margaret Dyer. |
Her landscape and figurative works have been awarded in many juried shows, and appeared in American Art Collector and Charlotte Magazine. Known for her expressive color and abstract interpretation of representational subjects, Bre continues to evolve artistically. Recently, her work has been exhibited at The Pastel Society of America NYC, The Butler Institute of American Art and the Pastel Society of New Mexico.
Bre is a Signature Member of The Pastel Society of America, founding board member of the Piedmont Pastel Society, Southeastern Pastel Society “Member of Excellence”, and the Guild of Charlotte Artists. She is represented by Gallery C in Raleigh and Studio21 in Charlotte.
